CHANDIGARH: A Zirakpur resident has been arrested for breaking the wheel clamps fixed to his car for wrong parking in Sector 8 and driving away from the spot.

A Zirakpur resident has been arrested for breaking the wheel clamps fixed to his car for wrong parking in Sector 8 and driving away from the spot.

According to the police, a complaint was made by ASI Rajpal of the traffic wing. He stated that a white Swift car was clamped after it was found parked in a no parking area near the Sector 8 market on Madhya Marg. A note was pasted on its windscreen directing the owner to pay the fine and get the vehicle released.

The police said the vehicle owner, identified as Vishal of Dashmesh Nagar in Zirakpur, broke the clamps and left in his car.

A case under Sections 379 (theft) and 411 (dishonestly receiving stolen property) of the IPC was registered against the accused at the Sector 3 police station. — TNS
