MOHALI: The Mohali police brought three vehicle thieves on production warrants from Mandi Gobindgarh and recovered two two-wheelers and a car, which they had stolen from the area.



Mohali: The Mohali police brought three vehicle thieves on production warrants from Mandi Gobindgarh and recovered two two-wheelers and a car, which they had stolen from the area. The accused have been identified as Ranjit Singh, Gursewak Singh and Rahul, all residents of Patti, Tarn Taran. The accused were produced before a local court, which sent them to two-day police custody. According to the police, they worked in Mandi Gobindgarh. “They visited Mohali to steal vehicles. The Mandi Gobindgarh police had recovered 15 two-wheelers and two cars from them, of which two two-wheelers and one car were stolen from Mohali,” said the police. TNS

Youth caught stealing AC wire

Kharar: A local youth, Gurpreet Singh, was caught while stealing an AC cable from a house in Gillco Valley. He was handed over to the city police. As per a complaint, lodged by Rajdeep Singh, a case under Section 454, 411 and 380 of the IPC has been registered against him.  ASI Kewal Singh  said the accused had admitted that he had stolen goods from various houses in the area and was involved in seven cases of theft. He was produced in a local court on Tuesday, which sent him to one-day police custody. OC

Theft at shops 

Dera Bassi: Thieves decamped with valuables and cash from four shops in Samgoli village here on Monday night. The theft was reported on Tuesday morning. The village sarpanch informed the police. The police suspect that a local gang may be involved in it. A case has been registered. The police have procured the CCTV footage of nearby areas. OC    

Man held in robbery case

Chandigarh: The local police have arrested a person for robbing a man of his purse in Mani Majra. The complainant, Sanjeev of Sector 20, Panchkula, told the police that an unidentified person robbed him of his purse containing Rs 600 in cash and documents near the Dhir transport, Mansa Devi road, Mani Majra. Thereafter, the police arrested the accused, identified as Abdul Kadir. A case has been registered at the Mani Majra police station. TNS

One arrested with ganja 

Chandigarh: The police have arrested a person with 1.310-kg ganja. The accused has been identified as Balinder, a resident of Phase-I, Bapu Dham Colony. The police said the accused was arrested near the EWS flats in Sector 26. A case has been registered at the Sector 26 police station. TNS
