Aam Aadmi Party and minister Satyendar Jain has filed separate criminal defamation complaints against sacked minister Kapil Mishra and Shiromani Akali Dal leader and Rajouri Garden MLA Manjinder Singh Sirsa in connection with the recent allegations of giving Rs 2 crore to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and 'hawala' transactions.

Saying he stands by his remarks against Jain and Kejriwal, Sirsa urged the court to make Kejriwal whom he called “coward and psychopath” a party in the suit saying he is the head of the alleged “corrupt” government and his party.

“The complaints have been filed in the court of Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Tees Hazaari against Kapil Mishra and Sirsa under relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code and the Code of Criminal Procedure,” said a senior party leader.

According to the AAP, Mishra on May 7, hours after he was sacked from the Cabinet, levelled what it called “blatantly false, misleading, baseless and defamatory” remarks before the media against Jain.

In course, Mishra also went on to “link the complainant with completely false allegations about some fictitious deals”, said the party in a statement here.

Similarly, the AAP claimed Sirsa on May 9 made “false and libellious” statement that the complainant allegedly indulged in circulation of unlawful money.

“Such statements were carried by the media without making an attempt to even verify the completely false and libellious allegations. Such statements without any basis have been put in public domain to damage the reputation of the complainant,” said the AAP.

Reacting to the defamation complaint, Sirsa today alleged Kejriwal was using his ministers and party colleagues as his “puppets and he himself was evading” the judicial process.

Addressing the media, Sirsa said “These false and baseless cases can’t dissuade me.” He vowed to continue raising his voice till the AAP government is dislodged.

Reiterating the charges of alleged "hawala transactions and money laundering", Sirsa said he stands by what he had said in the assembly against Jain and Kejriwal.

He said that Kerjiwal is the only politician in the country who is facing multiple cases of defamation and corruption, but he always tries to find excuses from facing judiciary.

Manjinder Singh Sirsa said Kejriwal cannot "escape" from the judicial process anymore and he will have to face the music for "misuse" of power.
