PFWS to increase participation of women in sports

NEW DELHI: The Police Families Welfare Society (PFWS) launched its iconic initiative “Neele Pankh” with a vision that women have made the country proud by their achievements in all fields. With this initiative the society ensures that women take equal part as men in sports.

The Police Families Welfare Society (PFWS) launched its iconic initiative “Neele Pankh” with a vision that women  have made the country  proud by their achievements in all fields. With this initiative the society ensures that women take equal part as men in sports.

The event witnessed felicitation of 25 girls between age group of 12 and 17. They were selected at the end of phase-I of the PFWS Mission Olympics-2020, showing excellence in different fields of sports, including athletics, badminton, football, shooting and wrestling.

The PFWS as a part of its social initiative “WAJIFA”, a scholarship programme for the family members of police personnel, recently concluded phase-I of Mission Olympics-2020 to encourage and train children of personnel in different fields of sports.

PFWS president Suchana Patnaik said, “The children have been undergoing rigorous training from a well-trained nutritionist, who is taking care of the diet of the players, to the physiotherapist who is making sure none of the players sustain injuries. The PFWS is also aiming towards planning Paralympics games to give opportunities to Divyang children with free registration fee for the training.”
