Dehradun, April 26
Uttarakhand Assembly Speaker Govind Singh Kunjwal has asked BJP MLA Bhim Lal Arya to respond by April 28 to the charges levelled by the chief whip of the BJP, Madan Kaushik, under the anti-defection law.
Arya demanded more time to reply to the charges brought by his party. However, critcising the decision, Kaushik said the Speaker was deliberately trying to keep the matter hanging and was not keen on early resolution.
The BJP had served a notice on Arya for remaining absent on March 18 when the budget had to be passed in the state Assembly.
