Newly elected Congress MLA from Moga Assembly constituency Harjot Kamal while talking to The Tribune on Sunday said he would strive hard for the overall development of his area. He has been elected to the state Assembly for the first time.

He holds a degree in Ayurveda and runs many professional degree colleges in the state.

“My dream is to serve the people and to do something better for Moga so I joined politics,” he said.

He said his priority would be to provide better civic amenities to people and create job opportunities for the youth by developing Moga as a hub of education.

He said he wants to prepare a master plan for the town, solve traffic problems by getting railway underpasses and flyovers constructed, develop an urban estate, set up a cluster for agricultural industries, set up RO systems for potable water, set up new parks, beautify the town and provide better healthcare facilities by setting up a trauma centre on the national highway. He said he would also create awareness among youth to shun drugs.
