Panwar unveils Rs 3 cr projects

MUSSOORIE: Urban Development Minister Pritam Singh Panwar unveiled development projects worth Rs 3 crore at Chinyali Saud in Uttarkashi district on Sunday.



Mussoorie, September 12

Urban Development Minister Pritam Singh Panwar unveiled development projects worth Rs 3 crore at Chinyali Saud in Uttarkashi district on Sunday.

Panwar, addressing people, said the government was committed to developing the areas under local bodies and Nagar Panchayats on a priority basis. The government had provided funds for the construction of drains, streetlights and repair of roads for the town from time to time. The housing project for around 200 poor families was underway, apart from other projects being run under the town council area, he added.

Nagar Panchayat president Shoorvir Rangad raised the issue of water scarcity in the town and said the Municipal Council was still dependent on a 20-year-old pipelines which had damaged and were leaking at several places. —TNS
