Solo, duet singing mark end of Tibet Week

The Tibetan week celebrations concluded at host Central School for Tibetans at Happy Valley in Mussoorie today.

The events started early in the morning with open solo and duet competitions. Twelve students, namely Tashi Jamyang, Tseten Dolma, Tenzin Razees, Sangay Ringzin, Tenzin Yangdol, Tsering Palmo, Sonam youdon, Tenzin Nedon, Tashi Chonzom, Sonam Nendak,Tenzin Woeser and Dorjee Rangdol, were able to impress the audience with their singing talent.

Rajat Uniyal, Shushant Tomar and Ravi Verma surprised the audience by singing songs in the Tibetan language. Later in the evening, students from Chegyal, Thumi, Taring and Desi houses of the school presented several items depicting the culture of Tibet.

Principal of the school Anita Narula and rector Norbu presented citations and awards to the students who had excelled in various fields during Tibet Week. Tsering Phuntsuk won the most promising student’s award for excelling in various categories. Other groups were also felicitated for winning in various competitions during the week.

Teachers Thakchoe Tsering, Tashi Dorjee, Reverend Lobsang Samten, Pempa Tsering, and Ngwang Dolkar assisted the students in successfully organising programmes during Tibet Week.
