Yamunotri shrine to close on Nov 9

DEHRADUN: The Yamunotri temple in Uttarakhand will close for the winter break on November 9. An official announcement made on Monday stated that the portals of the shrine will close around 12.15 pm, joining the three other Chaar Dham shrines for the winter break.

The Yamunotri temple in Uttarakhand will close for the winter break on November 9. An official announcement made on Monday stated that the portals of the shrine will close around 12.15 pm, joining the three other Chaar Dham shrines for the winter break. The Gangotri shrine will be closed at 12.30 pm on November 8 and portals of Badrinath shrine will be closed on November 20 at 3.21 pm.

The Kedarnath shrine, which houses one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva in India, will close its gates at 8.30 am on November 9, on the auspicious occasion of Bhaiyya Duj.  The dates were decided by priests and astrologers, keeping in mind certain planetary positions. — IANS
