CHANDIGARH: The state government has upgraded 45 high schools and 15 middle schools located in various districts to the level of Government Senior Secondary School from the session 2017-18.

Chandigarh, September 21

The state government has upgraded 45 high schools and 15 middle schools located in various districts to the level of Government Senior Secondary School from the session 2017-18. The government has also sanctioned 765 posts for these schools.

Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma has said 15 new posts of principal have been sanctioned whereas 45 posts of principal will be created by upgrading the existing posts of Head Masters. Similarly, 660 posts of PGT in English, Hindi, history, political science, economics, chemistry, physics, commerce, mathematics, geography and physical education have been sanctioned. Besides 15 posts of clerk, 30 posts of Class IV have also been sanctioned.—TNS
