Mountaineer’s body to arrive today

CHANDIGARH: The body of Ravi Thakur, a resident of Sonepat who was on a Mount Everest expedition, is scheduled to arrive in India on Saturday, according to the Embassy of India in Nepal.

The body of Ravi Thakur, a resident of Sonepat who was on a Mount Everest expedition, is scheduled to arrive in India on Saturday, according to the Embassy of India in Nepal.

Thakur (27) was reportedly found dead on May 17 in a tent on the South Col of Mount Everest. He had successfully scaled the world’s highest peak, but died on the way back.

The state government had born the expenses of his search operation.
