Gymnastics team wins medals

JAMMU: J&K girls’ gymnastics team proved their supremacy by winning medals in the recently held Senior National Gymnastics Championship in Mohali from February 16 to 18.

J&K girls’ gymnastics team proved their supremacy by winning medals in the recently held Senior National Gymnastics Championship in Mohali from February 16 to 18.

The gymnastics team comprising Mitali, Palak Kour, Nandani Lakhotra and Vandhana Barathi bagged five gold, a silver and two bronze medals, respectively.

Secretary, J&K State Sports Council, Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra congratulated the team for keeping the state flag high in the national championship.

In the championship, Palak Kour bagged three gold medals in all round and individual apparatus finals of ball and ribbon events and a bronze medal in hoop event. Mitali performed excellently and got another individual gold medal in hoop event and a bronze medal in club event. Vandhana clinched a silver medal in ball event. — TNS
