Live hackathon at NIT on Sep 21-22

Dr BR Ambedkar National Institute of Technology (NIT), Jalandhar, is organising a national level hackathon on September 21 and 22 as part of a mega techno-managerial annual event ‘TechNITi’. The event will be one of north India’s largest hackathon which will be live for a period of 24 hours. As many as 150 registrations have been received out of which 30 teams (comprising of three to five members each) are being shortlisted by carrying out a rigorous screening process, said coordinator Geeta Sikka. 

Freshers’ party

Freshers’ party of PG Department of Chemistry of Lyallpur Khalsa College was organised. Students of MSc 1 and III semesters of chemistry department exhibited their talent in performances such as songs, group dances and modelling. Miss Freshers’ title was bagged by Pakeeza. Other titles were awarded as Miss Confident—Chahat, Miss Best Smile—Monika, Miss Elegant—Shreya Sharda and Miss Punjaban—Ruby. Principal  Gurpinder Singh Samra presided over the function.

Global Teacher Award

Amit Kumar, PGT (physics) of Innocent Hearts School, Green Model Town, has been awarded “Global Teacher Award – 2019” from Alert Knowledge Services. The award show was organised in Gurugram recently. Teachers from 70 countries participated in the show. In total, 1,000 teachers were nominated and 500 were shortlisted for this award. Dinesh Kamra, Ambassador of Turkey, honoured him in award ceremony. Amit Kumar has already received The Best Teacher Award by SOF Olympiad and Khalsa College. Besides this, he adopts innovative methods to teach his students. The projects prepared by him were also selected during CBSE exhibitions.

National Language Week

Sanskriti KMV School marked the day of respect for the National Language – Hindi. Dedicating a week for the series of activities, the event called for wide expressions of the students for the national language through slogan writing, poem recitation, essay writing and speech presentations.
