Additional Sessions Judge Sonia Kinra has convicted Jonny Sagar of Doraha on the charge of sexually abusing a 10-year-old child.

He was ordered to undergo rigorous imprisonment for seven years under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. A fine of Rs 30,000 was also imposed upon him.

Delivering the verdict, the court held that the prosecution has successfully proved the guilt of accused. The court turned down the plea of leniency raised by the convict.

A case against him was registered at the Doraha police station on March 30, 2016, following the complaint of the victim boy's mother.

However, the accused pleaded innocence and claimed false implication. But after appreciating the evidence on record, the court found him guilty and sentenced accordingly.
