Ludhiana, January 2

The Congress leaders claimed credit for victory in the recently concluded panchayat polls.

Speaking on the occasion, Gurdev Singh Lapran, president, District Congress Committee (rural) said, “The Congress supported candidates have swept gram panchayat elections in Jagraon, Dakha, Sahnewal, Gill and Raikot by winning in 507 of 586 panchayats.”

Amarjit Singh Tikka, general secretary, Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee, said voters dismissed false accusations of the opposition and voted fearlessly for Congress supported candidates.
