A non-bailable warrant (NBW) has been issued against the Leader of Opposition in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, BSP's Swami Prasad Maurya, for not appearing before a court regarding a speech in which he had allegedly made derogatory remarks about Hindu gods. Rationalists’ murders
The government on Wednesday said there was no report to suggest any link between the murders of rationalists Govind Pansare, Narendra Dabholkar and MM Kalburgi, Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju told the Rajya Sabha in a written reply. Replying to another question, Rijiju said at present, there was no proposal to ban right-wing group Santhan Sanstha. PTI

3 farmers end life
Three farmers allegedly committed suicide in separate incidents in Nashik’s Malegaon taluka in the past 24 hours, the police said on Wednesday. Ganesh Himmat Bacchav (33) of Sonaj Takali village committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree, whereas Mahesh Bansilal Sonawane (33) and Pravin Bhatu Magar (42) ended their lives by consuming poison on Tuesday.
