Khaira, Bittu visit kin

Ludhiana, October 18

Congress MP Ravneet Singh Bittu and Leader of the Opposition Sukhpal Sing Khaira today visited the house of the RSS leader Ravinder Gosain, who was shot dead here yesterday.

Bittu claimed Canada- and Pakistan-based radicals affiliated with the Khalistan movement were behind the recent killings of Hindu leaders and those from other faiths.

“The Punjab Police and the state government are aware of a Canada-based person, who wants to create communal tension in the state. He has been funding sleeper cells to orchestrate such killings,” he said.

Bittu added the Congress government and the police would support the bereaved family.

Khaira said law and order had collapsed in the state. “The situation was the same during the Akali-BJP rule as well,” he added. — TNS
