New Delhi, February 14

Amid farmer’s protest, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Wednesday has advised Delhi-NCR students to avail metro services to reach exam centres on time.

In Delhi, 5,80,192 students from 877 examination centres will appear in the Board examinations.

The CBSE exams are scheduled to begin on February 15. The students have been instructed to reach the examination centres by 10 am, half an hour before the commencement of exams at 10:30 am.  No student will be allowed to enter the exam hall after 10 am.

CBSE said that the advisory is being issued keeping the potential delays due to traffic congestion in Delhi-NCR owing to protests.

“Because of the current situation in Delhi, it is expected that there will be traffic issues which might cause a delay in reaching the examination centre. Hence, all the students are advised to leave their homes early so that they can reach well on time as per instructions issued by the CBSE. It is advisable to use Metro services to reach the examination centres which are playing smoothly,” CBSE said.

On the Grand Trunk Road, vehicles were redirected through side roads. Container walls have been put at several points at the City's border points.

“All schools are requested to help and guide the parents and the students. Students are once again advised to visit their examination centre in advance and make a plan for their travel so that they can arrive before or on time on all examination days,” the advisory said.

Areas near Tikri and Singhu borders have blockades thereby raising concern amongst the parents about how will their children reach exam centres.
