The first meeting of the state government’s high-powered anti-graft panel chaired by Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal will take place soon. Major decisions to curb corruption and discussions on pending graft cases are said to be on agenda.
Kaushal said at a meeting chaired recently by the CM, several decisions were taken to eliminate corruption. He said the state Vigilance Bureau would be strengthened. For the purpose, four retired CBI officers would be roped in to speed up probe in corruption cases. “Besides, efforts are being made to appoint Chief Vigilance Officers from other departments as well through the empanelment process. Presently, every department has its own CVO,” he said. —
