Rohtak, January 19

Balraj Kundu, Independent MLA from Meham who has been booked for a multi-crore fraud, protested along with his supporters in Rohtak today, alleging that the FIR had been registered against him on the basis of forged documents.

Kundu and his supporters marched to the Civil Lines police station, where he courted arrest and staged a dharna along with his supporters. They submitted a complaint of forgery against the persons on whose complaint the FIR had been registered.

Rohtak SP Rahul Sharma received the complaint and assured them of fair investigation by a special team. The MLA said he would court arrest again if no concrete action was taken within three days.

The SP said documents pertaining to the case would be sent to a forensic laboratory for handwriting and signature analysis and appropriate action taken against whoever was found guilty.

Earlier in the day, Kundu reached the Circuit House along with his supporters. He reiterated allegations of corruption in Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation scheme and purchase of treacle (sheera) from cooperative sugar mills against former minister and BJP leader Manish Grover.

The MLA threatened to withdraw support to the BJP government if no action was taken against the former minister within a month. He accused the BJP leader of indulging in political vendetta by getting the case registered against him.

When contacted, Grover said he had nothing to do with the case and it was registered on the basis of a complaint lodged by Dhankhar brothers, who had executed some construction projects for Kundu’s company.
