Overloaded autorickshaws Risk lives of commuters

Overcrowded autorickshaws pose a threat to the safety of passengers travelling in it and this has become a common sight here. Auto drivers between Ambala Cantt and bus stand ferry up to 12 passengers against the sanctioned strength of six, putting lives of commuters in danger. This issue needs to be given top priority by the police and the administration. Any driver found violating rules must be taken to task. We hope the government will take cognisance of the issue and take immediate action.

Gian P Kansal, Ambala

No slip road for motorists on National Highway

The National Highway-65 has now become a four-lane Expressway. From Narwana to Chandigarh, it takes less than three hours now, which was earlier more than five hours. But the NHAI authorities have not made any slip road or passage for motorists coming from Chandigarh to Narwana. It is a common sight to see motorists driving on the wrong side of the road and when vehicles come from the opposite side, mishaps are inevitable. The NHAI must develop a slip road for people going to Narwana city.

Ramesh Gupta, Narwana

Illegal parking adds to traffic mess

Illegal parking of vehicles on the Salarpur road in Kurukshetra is adding to traffic mess in the city. There is a rush of vehicles on this road, but the main hurdle is parking of vehicles by patients who visit a private hospital, leading to frequent traffic jams. The administration should make necessary arrangements for parking of vehicles on this busy road to help ease traffic issues.

RL Bansal, Kurukshetra
