Two brothers booked in separate rape cases

BATHINDA: Two brothers hailing from Natt village of Bathinda district have been booked in two rape cases.

Two brothers hailing from Natt village of Bathinda district have been booked in two rape cases.

While the first case has been registered at the Cantonment police station, the other is at the Talwandi Sabo police station. Both accused are absconding.

Both victims are students were and living as paying guests at Guru ki Nagri in Bathinda. According to sources, one of the victims came in contact with an accused and through him the second girl got in touch with his brother.

The accused have been identified as Badal Singh and Sandeep Singh. In the first case, the victim, a resident of Pitho village, said she was preparing for IELTS and also pursuing B Tech from a private college at Talwandi Sabo.

She said she came in contact with Badal and later they became close friends. According to the victim, the accused clicked her photographs during a trip and started raping her while threatening to show those pictures to her family.

The accused had been raping her repeatedly for the last couple of years, she added. Later, she lodged a complaint with the police after which Badal was booked under Sections 376 and 506 of the IPC.

Sunil Kumar, SHO of the Talwandi Sabo police station, said the accused would be arrested soon.

The first victim’s room partner, a resident of Raikot in Ludhiana district, got to know Badal’s brother Sandeep.

In her complaint at the Cantonment police station, she said she was doing GNM course here. She alleged that the accused had taken a house on rent at Bharat Nagar, Bathinda, where he raped her on March 20.

Narinder Kumar, SHO of the Cantonment police station, said a case under Section 376 of the IPC had been registered against Sandeep.
