Ambala, April 22
The Ambala police have booked an unidentified person for allegedly impregnating a 15-year-old girl in Panjokhra area of the district.
The matter came to light when the parents of the minor girl, who is said to be five-month pregnant, reached the Ambala City Civil Hospital for abortion.
According to information, the minor has been living with her mother and stepfather at a brick kiln in Panjokhra area. The victim and her family hail from Bihar.
The girl was also produced before the Child Welfare Committee, but she expressed ignorance about the person who impregnated her.
Sunita Dhaka, SHO at the women police station, said, “The victim’s treatment has been started and after the abortion, the DNA of the foetus will be preserved for further investigation.”
Surender Singh, SHO at the Panjokhra police station, said, “A case has been registered against an unidentified person under Section 4 of the POCSO Act.” — TNS
