CHANDIGARH: The Chandigarh Police booked Kricpy Khera and others for obstructing an income tax officer from discharging her duty during the hearing of a case against Kricpy’s husband Devinder Singh Gill.

The Chandigarh Police booked Kricpy Khera and others for obstructing an income tax officer from discharging her duty during the hearing of a case against Kricpy’s husband Devinder Singh Gill. 

According to the police, Dalwinder Kaur, Income Tax Recovery Officer-II, Sector 17, reported that she had issued arrest warrants in the name of Devinder Singh Gill, a resident of Sector 70, Mohali. The arrest warrants were issued as per provisions of the Income Tax Act, 1961, and the SHO, Mataur, Mohali, was issued warrants to arrest Gill. 

On August 13, a during the hearing of the case at the complainant’s office in Sector 17, Gill’s wife Kricpy Khera and some other persons obstructed her from discharging her duty. 

Husband held for non-payment of tax

The Income Tax Department has arrested a resident of Sector 70, Mohali, for not paying tax arrears worth around Rs 2.5 to 3 crore.

Official sources confirmed that Devinder Singh Gill  was arrested on Monday from Mohali and was sent to the Burail jail. Tax Recovery Officer Dalwinder Kaur had served a notice on him, directing to pay the amount. — TNS
