11 policemen in charge of Doda police post in over 2 years

DODA/GIDDERBAHA: Call it “political pressure” or “ineffectiveness of policemen” that the Doda police post, which comes under Kotbhai police station in Gidderbaha Assembly segment, has seen 11 persons as incharge since its inauguration on July 2, 2014.

Call it “political pressure” or “ineffectiveness of policemen” that the Doda police post, which comes under Kotbhai police station in Gidderbaha Assembly segment, has seen 11 persons as incharge since its inauguration on July 2, 2014. It means that on an average, one incharge has remained here for just three months.

Records procured from official sources revealed that some of them had been transferred before even completing a month.

The first incharge of this police post, Major Singh, remained here from July 2, 2014 to November 1, 2014. Thereafter, Jagsir Singh replaced him till December 1, 2014. Then, Balwant Singh remained on this post from December 1, 2014 to March 25, 2015.

Subsequently, Karamjit Singh held the charge of this police post from March 25, 2015 to June 8, 2015.

He was replaced by Balwinder Singh who remained on this post from June 9, 2015 to September 3, 2015. Thereafter, Harwinderpal Singh headed this police post from September 3, 2015 to February 2, 2016. He was replaced by Gurmeet Singh, who headed this police post till April 16.

Then, Karamjit Singh held the charge from April 23 to May 10. Thereafter, Pritam Singh was deployed here for just 18 days from May 13 to 30. Then, Rajinder Kumar Sharma headed this police post from June 6 to October 18.

Presently, Balwinder Singh is the incharge of this police post, having assumed charge on October 18. He admitted that 10 policemen had served before him as incharge of this post.
