Shimla, October 11

Condemning the statement of Himachal Youth Congress president Vikramaditya Singh that rally of Prime Minister Narendra Modi would not absolve the NDA government of allegations of discrimination against the Congress-led government in the state, BJYM state president Vishal Chauhan today said that it was the previous UPA government which discriminated against Himachal.

In a statement issued here today, Chauhan said that Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and former Union Minister Anand Sharma were responsible for discrimination as the status of special category state and industrial package was snatched during the Congress regime.

He said it was under the leadership of Prime Minister A B Vajpayee that Himachal got the status of special category state and industrial package and under the leadership of Narendra Modi the state got three medical colleges, an AIIMS, 56 national highways about which everybody is aware.

Claiming that the rally of the Prime Minister to be held in Mandi on October 18 would be a great success, Chauhan challenged Youth Congress president to organize a rally with half the number.
