The Health Department will reportedly run mobile vans for creating awareness against female foeticide and low gender ratio in the district. The drive will start from the first week of November. Dr Sanjay Dahiya, CMO, said: “Our focus will be the villages which have recorded imbalanced gender ratio.” He said a movie against female foeticide would be screened and the Song and Drama Division of the Centre will present an act against the social menace. 10-yr jail for smuggler
Additional and Sessions Judge (ADJ) Sudeep Goel has sentenced a drug smuggler to 10 years’ imprisonment. He has also been fined with Rs 1.20 lakh after he was held guilty in a case under the NDPS Act. Sumer Partap Singh, SP, said here on Tuesday that convict Sandeep of Mor Patti in Narwana of Jind district was found carrying 1 kg of smack in a vehicle on March 16 near Kahrak Pandva in Kalayat. OC
