Karnal, August 23
The Haryana Civil Dental Surgeon Association took out a state-level candle march on Friday to protest the delay in approval of their demands, including change in nomenclature of post of dental surgeon to medical officer (dental), parity in pay scales at the entry level and others. They started their protest from Jat Dharamshala and reached outside the CM’s camp office.
Dr Inderjeet Yadav, state president of the association, led the candle march and said the association had been asking the state government to place the rank of dental surgeon at par with neighbouring states since 2009.
Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had found the demands of the dental cadre were genuine. He approved the changes but to date, justice had not been given to us, he said, adding dental surgeons should be made Class A officers after entry into the job and new promotional posts of deputy civil surgeon (dental) at the district level. — TNS
