A team of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Sunday recovered over 22 kg of heroin from a car at Lakhanpur and arrested three persons in this connection. The drug haul is worth Rs 100 crore in the international market.
The NCB team has arrested three Kashmiri men and seized a vehicle in which the consignment was hidden.
The team produced the three accused in the court of the Kathua tehsildar on Monday which sent them to six-day NCB remand.
According to sources, the NCB team with the help of the excise department team on Sunday intercepted a car which was on its way to Punjab. The team immediately apprehended the three persons travelling in it.
The NCB, however, did not share the details of the operation. “The three accused were presented by the NCB team in a court, seeking their remand. The court has sent them to six-day remand,” said tehsildar Jai Singh.
