Lucknow, December 10

The Bulandshahr chief judicial magistrate court today rejected the bail petition of jawan Jitendra Malik alias Jeetu Fauji accused in the December 3 killing of Siyana Station Officer Inspector Subodh Kumar Singh.

Attached to a unit of the Rashtriya Rifles and posted in J&K, Jitendra was arrested and brought to Bulandshahr on Sunday when he was remanded in 14-day custody.

His counsel Sanjay Sharma said a petition for his bail would be submitted before a special court tomorrow.

During the preliminary interrogation, Malik admitted that he was at the spot when the violence took place on December 3 but denied killing the cop. However, he has been changing his statement. He first denied being present in the district at the time of violence. When confronted with a video tape, he admitted being at the spot but pleaded not guilty. — TNS
