C.W.C. TO HAVE MORE ELECTED MEMBERS.

BANGALORE, July 11 (PTI)—The Congress Party today took a significant step towards democratization of its organisational structure when a rank-and-file rebellion in the A-ICC forced the leadership to accept a non-official amendment to the party constitution to provide for a Working Committee consisting of an equal number of elected and nominated members. A-ICC, at the same time, left it to the Working Committee to act, in consultation with the PCCs, on a recommendation of the Patil panel that not more thatn 10 of the 20 Working Committee members should be Ministers in the Union or State Government (the Working Committee consists of the President and 20 members). The amendment to raise the number of elected members in the Working Committee from seven to 10 was moved by Mr. S.N. Mishra of the ginger group.
