BJP national president JP Nadda today said that the Union Government had given Rs 1,782 crore to Himachal as compensation for damage caused due to the monsoon fury last year.

Nadda, while addressing a party rally at the Zorawar stadium in Dharamsala, said, “Some people are saying that the Central Government has given nothing to Himachal in view of the monsoon fury. No Congress leader came to Himachal but we went to all parts of the state. The Union Government has given Rs 1,782 crore to Himachal as relief assistance in view of the monsoon fury. The Congress government in Himachal is indulging in favourtism in granting compensation for the rain disaster. The Chief Minister has withdrawn notifications of development works.” He praised party workers for waiting for him despite chilling and adverse climatic conditions.

He alleged that Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ was actually ‘Bharat Toro Anyai Yatra’. He added that DK Suresh, Congress leader from Karnataka, had favoured a separate country to be carved out of India but no Congress leader criticised his statement. The Congress should clarify its stance whether it wanted to break the country or not.

He said that the INDIA alliance was actually a ‘save family alliance’. All parties that were part of the INDIA alliance were family-based parties, he added.

Nadda said, “Under the Suryoday Yojana, people will be able to sell power though rooftop solar power plants. This will give them 300 units of free power and they will also earn from electricity generated from their rooftop plants.”

He said, “Article 370 has been abolished and Jammu and Kashmir has been integrated with the country. The Army has been given the right to retaliate to internal and external attacks.”

He said, “The Indian economy is among the top five economies of the world. In 2027, India will be the third largest economy of the world. It is one of the achievements of the 10 years’ rule of the Narendra Modi government.” He attacked the Congress for proposing a caste census. He added that there were only four castes, namely youth, poor, women and farmers.

Anurag Thakur, Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, said, “Arvind Kejriwal came to power by accusing the Congress of indulging in corruption. However, his party AAP has now allied with the Congress. The INDIA alliance is falling apart. The BJP will win all four Lok Sabha seats in Himachal.”

Anurag said, “India has over one lakh start-ups. The Central Government has earmarked Rs 1 lakh crore for research and innovation. The sports budget has been increased three times, four crore houses have been constructed for the poor and 75 per cent of these have been registered in their names. Asha and anganwari workers have been brought under the cover of the Ayushman Bharat health scheme.”

BJP will win all four LS seats: Anurag

  • The BJP will win all four Lok Sabha seats in state, said Anurag Thakur
  • Jai Ram Thakur, Leader of the Opposition, alleged, “Congress MLAs are frustrated with their government. The Chief Minister does not trust party MLAs and his ministers. Even the Congress state president is venting her ire against the government.”
  • He claimed that the mobile phones of the MLAs had been put under surveillance.
  • BJP national vice-president Saudan Singh, party in-charge for Himachal Avinash Rai Khanna, co-incharge Sanjay Tandon, Sullah MLA Vipin Singh Parmar and former ministers Bikram Thakur, Rakesh Pathania and Sarveen Chaudhary attended the rally
