Anganwadi workers stage protest in Ludhiana

Ludhiana, August 14

Anganwadi workers and helpers staged a protest against the Central and state government outside the DC office here on Saturday evening. They were protesting against the non-acceptance of their pending demands. The protesters said they would continue their protest for a night as per their plan. They announced to hoist the national flag on Sunday morning to mark Independence Day.

A leader of the workers said, “Under the ‘Gaddi Chhodo Andolan’, we want the Central and state government should quit. We don’t need such governments in the country. Thus, we have gathered here to mark our protest against both governments. We will continue our protest the whole night today. On Sunday morning, we will end the protest and hoist the flag.” — TNS
