Board with ex-mayor’s name smeared in P’kula

Amid the demand of removal of boards of former councillors and mayor Upinder Kaur Ahluwalia, an unkonwn person has poured black ink over Walia’s boards in Sector 21, Panchkula.

The black ink was poured both in residential and commercial area of Sector 21. A board carrying her name and installed at the entry of Sector 20 also met the same fate. However, a board of former councillor, Dalbir Kaur, installed at some distance was spared.

Ahluwalia has called it an act of cowardice. She said she had worked with honesty and sincerity. She accused her opponents of stooping to such a level. She said she was not scared of such a campaign against her. The tenure of councillors and the mayor had ended in May. —TNS
