The road between Manikaran and Barshaini in Parbati valley was blocked due to landslide at Ghatidhar today. Barshaini panchayat president Jai Ram Thakur stated that around 50 vehicles, including about 10 tourist vehicles, were stuck due to the landslide. He said that about 50 domestic and foreign tourists were also stuck. The tourists generally visit various villages in the area and especially Kheer Ganga known for its hot water springs.
Kullu AC to DC Sunny Sharma that the road is maintained by the NHPC as it is a road to their project site. NHPC authorities had pressed various machines into action at the spot to restore the road. He said that the work was still underway as huge boulders had slid from the mountain. He added that road was expected be restored for traffic late evening or by tomorrow.
