Carjacking: Sketches of 3 youths out

The Patiala police have released the sketches of three miscreants in connection with the carjacking incident that occurred on May 18 near the Punjabi University campus here.

SP Kesar Singh said with the help of the victim taxi driver, they had prepared the sketches of all three accused and also sent these to various police stations and check- points. He said they were also trying to get the CCTV footage of cameras installed near the spot in Zirakpur, from where they had hired the taxi.

Notably, three youths had hired the taxi of Jasbir Singh, a resident of Sanaur, on May 18 from Zirakpur. When they reached near Punjabi University, the youths asked the driver to stop the car on the Sadhu Bela Road to pick their relative. When the driver stopped the car, one of them pushed the driver off the road and all three fled along with the vehicle. — OC
