Chandigarh, August 19 

Tarini Goyal of Sacred Heart School, Sector 26, won the Chandigarh Women’s Chess Championship at St Xavier’s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44.

Goyal scored three points to win the championship. Kashish Kaushal of Guru Gobind Singh Senior Secondary School, Sector 35, scored two points to claim the second position. Nikita of Ryan International School, Sector 49, and Ashna Bansal of the host school claimed the third and fourth position, respectively, by scoring two points each.

The championship was organised by Chandigarh Chess Association. Four players have been selected to represent the city in the National Women Senior Chess Championship to be held at Jaipur from November 18 to 26.

2 Points: Kashish Kaushal, Nikita, Ashna Bansal, Krisha Bhatia        
1 Point: Precious Bansal, Tishya Gupta, Rishika Bhatia, Saanvi
