Following the death of a Pakistani inmate in a clash in a jail here on Wednesday, the Rajasthan government has put the Jaipur Central Jail Superintendent and his deputy under Awaiting Posting Order (APO), and ordered the immediate suspension of two other officials. 

A high-level inquiry into the death will be conducted by IG (Jail) Rupinder Singh, a CMO official said on Thursday. 

Jail Superintendent Sanjay Yadav and Deputy Superintendent Jagdish Sharma were put under APO. Wardens Ram Swaroop and Badiyanath Sharma were placed under suspension.

The Lal Kothi police post here lodged a case against four inmates involved in the alleged killing. These four had been involved in heinous crimes like child rape, murder and loot.

The accused have been identified as Kulwinder Singh, Manoj Pratap, Bhajan Meena and Ajeet Singh. 

Pakistani inmate Shakur Ullah facing life imprisonment was on Wednesday allegedly killed in a violent clash with eight other jail inmates in the TV room at Central Jail here.

The deceased, along with seven others, was in 2017 convicted of life imprisonment in a conspiracy case of 2010.
